The Premier Advantage: Compare Premier and non-Premier accounts

Here is how we have calculated the value of each benefit:

Deposit accounts - Additional £250 annual interest income based on £100,000 in any Premier Deposit account, as Premier deposit accounts enjoy a 0.25% higher gross interest rate compared to our non Premier deposit accounts.

Mortgage Offer – This is the first year interest saving, based on a Capital Repayment mortgage of £175,000 over 25 years. Premier customers enjoy a preferential 0.2% interest rate reduction on many of our rates.

Think carefully before securing other debts against your home. Your property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. Changes in the exchange rate may increase the sterling equivalent of your debt.

Reduced Money transmission charges - Premier customers save £10 on every money transmission to other banks in the UK and abroad for instructions made over the Internet or by telephone banking. The Premier charge is £15 compared to our £25 standard charge. The saving is based on one money transmission of this type per month over a period of one year (12 money transmissions in a year).

The international money transfer charges quoted do not include receiving/foreign bank charges. An additional £10 will be deducted if you wish to pay for foreign bank charges up front. Please note that if the charge exceeds this amount, we reserve the right to debit your account with the extra cost at a later date.

Free ATM Global Access - No fees are charged by HSBC for cash withdrawal at HSBC cash machines worldwide with your Premier International Debit card. Saving for Premier customers is based on one cash withdrawal per month, over a period of one year, at £500 per transaction compared to our standard charge of 1.5% (min. £1.75) for withdrawing cash from overseas cash machines.

Foreign Exchange - Based on a total of £50,000 exchanged into US Dollars at a 0.1% margin improvement versus our non Premier margin. It applies only to transaction size above £20,000 or currency equivalent and it is not available on transactions made on Personal Internet Banking.
