Q. Should I complete any documentation prior to leaving UAE?

A.
There are no special requirements for departure from the UAE. Registered immigration violations and police complaints are subject to clearance prior to departure from any UAE airport.

Q. Should I open an offshore bank account or is it beneficial to open an account on the UAE mainland?

A.
Offshore bank accounts do not create additional tax advantages from a UAE perspective where, but they may be advisable from the perspective of another country’s tax legislation.

Q. Will I need to complete a UAE tax return after my departure?

A. No. Individuals do not need to file individual income tax returns.

Q. I plan to sell my UAE property while overseas. Are there any capital gains tax implications?

A. UAE does not impose capital gains tax. However you should confirm the tax implications in your country of residence of selling your UAE property.
